šŸ“£ Donā€™t forget to have your say next week on the hashtag#CRCF šŸ“£

ā± On Monday, the European Commission is hosting the next in a series of workshops on the Carbon Removal and Carbon Farming (CRCF) Regulation. We need you, our industry experts, to help shape it so it's the best it can be and help set the precedent for future policies.

šŸ“– As a reminder, the focus this time will be on ā€œRules on 3rd Party Verification, Certification Schemes and Registries for Carbon Removalsā€:

Session 1ļøāƒ£: Rules for third-party verification

Session 2ļøāƒ£: Rules for certification schemes and certification bodies

Session 3ļøāƒ£: Preliminary scoping of CRCF registry

Session 4ļøāƒ£: Rules for certification registries

šŸ¤© The workshop is hybrid and Carbonfuture will be represented in Brussels by one of the most knowledgeable people I know on the topic, Anna J. LEHNER.

From my perspective, key things to highlight are:

šŸ”Ž Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) is not just about the methodology, but about actual implementation: getting companies through what can be a very laboursome certification process, in the fastest and most resource-efficient way.

šŸ›”ļø Different CRCF units (carbon farming, carbon products, permanent removals) will require different approaches to certification.

šŸ¤” Finally, as always, what will the use cases for the CRCF be and can we even do a good job at defining the certification process without knowing what these units will be used for?

ā“ In case you have been following this: what is your take? What stands out from the documents shared by the Commission on this topic so far and what will you be looking out for?
