š Zeru.Earth officially launched today. They are a platform aiming to get individuals like you and me to buy durable carbon removal (#CDR).
šŖ To date, buyers of CDR are almost exclusively big corporates The collective buying power of individuals is massive though, and a bunch of companies are trying to figure out how we can get thousands, then millions of people to contribute to the huge challenge of scaling CDR to gigaton scale.
šæ On Zeru, you first calculate your carbon footprint and then sign up for a monthly subscription of durable CDR, composed of several different projects, currently direct air capture (#DAC) with Octavia Carbon, seaweed sinking with Seaweed Generation, and enhanced rock weathering (#ERW) with UNDO.
š» The user experience is smooth and quick, something I've been missing from other solutions I have tested. And they exclusively chose high-quality, durable removals for their portfolio - a big plus for me.
šµ I just signed up for a Ā£20/month subscription (note: I buy CDR for personal reasons from several sources).
š Congrats to the team at Zeru for the launch and I hope we will see more and more individuals taking action and contributing directly to getting CDR to gigaton scale.
ā¤ļø Full disclosure: my wife Mariana Ballardin is an engineer at Zeru - and I am so proud of her work to get this platform up and running in record time.
