📊 [Poll] How much will durable CDR cost on average in 2050 (excluding inflation)? 📊
💡 Two days ago, I challenged the mystical notion of the $100/ton and got a lot of engagement. Time to quantify what you all believe.
💵 As a reminder: according to CDR.fyi, the average cost of durable carbon dioxide removal (hashtag#CDR) in 2023 was $488 / ton.
➡️ Why am I asking about averages and not just the cheapest tons? To reach net-zero globally by 2050 we need gigatons of it, so it doesn't really get us far if the majority is still way too expensive.
👀 Highly recommend checking out my other post for a very rich discussion on whether we should even aim for $100, what alternatives we have, and how we can get there: https://lnkd.in/d24B88Tw

Note: I meant <$100/ton of course in the first option ;-)
