📣 Reaction from the carbon dioxide removal (#CDR) Community to #UNFCCC stance on removals 📣

The last week has seen unprecedented mobilisation in the CDR industry in reaction to the unfair and unhelpful description of #engineeredCDR in an information note prepared for the upcoming meeting by the Article 6.4 #SupervisoryBody.

If you need a refresher on what happened, check out Eve Tamme´s great post - https://lnkd.in/deicWrT8

As a result, we have seen a flurry of submissions made to the UNFCCC from all major players in the field. Here are some great examples, many of which Carbonfuture contributed to:

✅ The OpenAir Collective - https://lnkd.in/d7QMSjks

✅ Carbon Business Council - https://lnkd.in/d94iTMZA

✅ Negative Emissions Platform - https://lnkd.in/d4FzNidS

✅ International Emissions Trading Association - https://lnkd.in/dDBiurUN

What stands out to me is the alignment in the messaging found here. The CDR community has really come together over the last week and collaborated closely under pressure. Hence, I strongly believe we will come out of this stronger and with a much needed heightened focus on the UN process.

❓ The big question, however, is whether and how this commensurate reaction will be received by the 6.4 Supervisory Body.

What statements have you seen that I missed? What is your take on the last week and the way forward?
