Today, on Earth Day...

💚 ...I want to take the opportunity to share my personal motivation of why I work in climate change and I would love to hear yours.

🌀 On October 26th 2018, hurricane Vaia swept across my beloved Dolomites in Northern Italy. In just 72h more than 870mm of rain fell with winds reaching almost 200km/h.

⛰️ In Vaia's wake, my mountain community was confronted with €2b of damages. Much worse, over 14 million trees had been torn down, leaving huge, visible scars wherever you looked.

🌲 Besides being a valued refuge and source of livelihood, these forests and these trees are an integral part of our identity. As such, the wounds created by Vaia ran deep.

🥾 I had witnessed firsthand the impact of climate change across the work during my time as a tech entrepreneur around the world: from floods in Bangladesh, droughts in Ethiopia, to landslides in Nepal. Vaia was the kick in the butt I needed to finally make a change and devote my career to carbon dioxide removal (hashtag#CDR).

🌍 I want to leave a world where future generations can enjoy these forests the way I have: wandering in them with my dog Bosco, picking delicious mushrooms in the autumn, and escaping to them when I need solitude.

❓ So what is your story? When and why did you decide to work on climate change?
